What happens when you contact us

  • 1. When your call comes in we start by gathering information from you. During this call we will make an appointment to have our representatives come over for an inspection at your property within 1 to 2 hours.
  • 2. On location we will determine the source of water intrusion, the severity of the damage and whether we're dealing with relatively clean or dirty water. We will also work with you to identify any immediate safety and health concerns such as electrical hazards, unsafe room conditions and microbial growth.
  • 3. After this initial walkthrough we can come up with a plan together to get your property back to its pre-loss condition. We will talk you through the different options for remediation, review timelines, provide cost estimates, and address any concerns you may have, such as health challenges to be considered, pets, and sentimental or valuable items.
  • 4. When a customer contract is signed we can start right away! In the case of water damage, the first 72 hours are critical to prevent the development of secondary damage. Did you know that mold growth under the right conditions can happen within 24 hours? Also, the sooner we can start drying out the property, the more likely we can avoid inconvenient (and expensive) demolition work such as removing floors, walls, or ceilings.
  • 5. First we minimize all safety hazards currently present. This can range from something relatively small like shutting off the power in one part of the house, to more serious measures like containing parts of the property that have more serious or dangerous water conditions. In some cases, we may need to bring in specialists to evaluate the property for lead, asbestos or microbial growth as specified by federal, state and local regulations.
  • 6. Once we make sure the source of the water intrusion has ceased (for example no more water flowing through a burst pipe) we can start extracting water. We have specialized equipment to get this done as quickly and safely as possible.
  • 7. Furniture and personal possessions might need to be protected, relocated, or discarded. Our goal is minimize the amount of hassle and inconvenience that is involved in this. We will work with you during this phase to plan ahead for personal items or papers you may need to access during mitigation and take special care with items of sentimental value that need to be protected.
  • 8. Our technicians will create a custom drying plan based on the materials affected, indoor and outdoor climate and security concerns. We use specialized equipment like air movers, dehumidifiers and air filtration devices to optimize the drying process and minimize the spread of contaminants. If during this phase some demolition (taking out drywall for example) is required, we will make sure you're fully informed and on-board with exactly what needs to be done and why.
  • 9. The drying process needs to be closely monitored. That's why we will be on site each day to monitor the drying progress. It is important to know that often it will look like the property is dry but there is still moisture present in harder to dry areas. Behind walls for example, or deep in the floor. We have the tools and technology to make sure that the premises are actually drying according to plan.
  • 10. After the water mitigation is complete, repair work may be needed. We will provide you with qualified specialists to do this work and to do it right.
  • 11. It is our goal that after the mitigation and repair work is done, you are 100% satisfied with the quality of service and communication you got during the process. We ask that you take a few moments to provide feedback so we can continue to work on being a restoration company of excellence. Thank you for working with Flood & Flame Restoration!
